Breitling’s all-purpose watch, the Chronomat, holds a significant place in the brand’s history. Introduced in 1984, it was a bold bet on a mechanical watch during the era of extra-thin quartz timepieces. Based on the Frecce Tricolori chronograph developed in 1983 with the famed Italian aerial squadron, the Chronomat celebrated Breitling’s centenary and marked the return of the mechanical chronograph. This model features a 42 mm case made from stainless steel and 18k red gold, an iconic bezel with four rider tabs, green dial, and a tainless steel & 18k red gold “Rouleaux” bracelet. It is powered by the in-house Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer.
