A Legacy Born in 1957

The OMEGA Railmaster was first launched in 1957 as part of the now-legendary “Professional Line,” alongside the Speedmaster and the Seamaster 300. Each watch was created for a specific professional audience—racing drivers, divers, and railway workers—during a time of rapid scientific and industrial advancement.

The Railmaster stood out for its advanced anti-magnetic technology. Thanks to a special inner protective case, it could withstand magnetic fields up to 1,000 gauss—far beyond the industry standard of 60 gauss at the time. This made it a reliable companion for engineers, scientists, and workers exposed to magnetic environments, especially those operating near railways and heavy machinery.

A Favourite Among Collectors

Loved for its vintage appeal and industrial roots, the Railmaster has seen several modern revivals since 2003. The collection has consistently blended functionality with heritage design, making it a staple among OMEGA enthusiasts.

Two New Dial Variations:

  • Grey Dial with Black Gradient (38 mm)

This model channels the spirit of the original Railmaster with a pared-back dial layout. Apart from the OMEGA logo and Railmaster name, the dial remains text-free, reinforcing its minimalist aesthetic. Large numerals and indexes are rendered in white Super-LumiNova for exceptional visibility. It’s available on either a black leather strap or a redesigned stainless steel bracelet offering improved integration and comfort.

  • Beige Dial with Black Gradient and Small Seconds (38 mm)

Drawing inspiration from the 2004 Railmaster edition, this model adds a Small Seconds sub-dial for a touch of character. The hour markers feature vintage Super-LumiNova, complementing the retro beige dial. It comes with a golden brown Novonappa leather strap or the updated stainless steel bracelet.

Both watches exhibit the precise case finishing expected from OMEGA, combining brushed and polished textures to enhance their visual appeal.

Advanced Movement Technology

More than 60 years after its first release, the Railmaster remains a benchmark in anti-magnetic watchmaking. The latest models are powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer movements—Calibre 8806 for the standard model and Calibre 8804 for the Small Seconds version.

These modern movements are METAS-certified, offering industry-leading accuracy and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss—fifteen times more than the original Railmaster could withstand. As part of OMEGA’s Master Chronometer family, these watches uphold the brand’s commitment to mechanical innovation and reliability.
