Firstly, you should always store earrings away from direct sunlight and humidity in order to maintain their shine. A jewellery box with separate compartments is the ideal storage solution for your earrings to prevent tangling and damage against other jewellery pieces. For more delicate or valuable earrings, consider using a soft pouch to prevent scratching.
We’d recommend removing your earrings before going to sleep to prevent them tangling in your hair and causing damage. Sleeping in earrings may also cause discomfort and irritation.
The amount of time you can leave your earrings out without your ear holes closing up will vary from person to person. It all depends on a number of factors such as how long you've had your ears pierced and the type of earrings you wear.
Generally, if you've had your ear piercings for a while (several months to a year or longer), your earlobes are less likely to close quickly. However, we’d always recommend not leaving your earrings out for extended periods of time, especially in the first year of having them pierced.
