Seiko Prospex Deep Blue Samurai PADI 43.8mm Blue Dial Rubber Strap Watch

This watch shape is nicknamed by Seiko fans as a ‘Samurai’ - because of its angular shaped case design which looks as if it were sliced by a Japanese Samurai sword . An oversized screw-down crown with a pleasing knurled finish sits beside the 3 o’clock position and is protected by a crown guards build into the case, which increases the functionality of this watch. This new PADI edition continues the Seiko Prosex association with the globally renowned Professional Association of Diving Instructors. The ‘King Samurai’ edition is differentiated from the normal ‘Samurai’ with the addition of a unidirectional ceramic bezel with an interesting and practical guilloche machining on the bezel edge and an ultra-scratch resistant sapphire glass with magnified date window. The dial of this special edition timepiece represents the view of the ocean as seen by the vision of the diver below the surface. The shades of blue colour echo that of the gradations of sunlight refracted through the water at different depths to showcase an almost 3D effect. The hour makers are covered with Lumibrite which allows the dial to be read in low light. The case of the watch are made from highly durable stainless steel with a fine ‘hairline’ brushed finish, the case is sealed to meet 200m water resistance and is ISO 6425 ‘diver’ rated, able to pass all of the requirements of the most serious of ‘tool’ watch tests. Renowned for its performance and reliability, Seiko’s inhouse 4R35 automatic movement powers the watch and it is an automatic calibre with manual-winding ability, convenient hacking-seconds function, and quick date change facility showing date of the month. With a 41-hour power reserve and 23 jewels, it beats at 21,600vph and has both a good level of anti-shock and anti-magnetic protection for peace of mind.
