**For further information about this item, click 'speak to an expert'.** IWC's Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, born from Kurt Klaus's work in the 1980s, joined the collection in 2003, becoming a mainstay.It boasts a polished 18-carat Armor Gold® case, Obsidian dial, and gold-plated hands and appliques. Its refined design features enhanced construction with thinner casing rings and double-box glass sapphire crystals. The intricate dial, crafted through a 60-step process, achieves depth with 15 layers of lacquer. This perpetual calendar automatically adjusts for month lengths and leap years, synchronized and set via a single crown. The IWC 52616 caliber movement ensures a seven-day power reserve, thanks to an automatic Pellaton winding system with wear-resistant ceramic components and a solid gold oscillating mass. The watch comes with a black alligator leather strap from Santoni, featuring an 18-carat Armor Gold® folding clasp.
