OMEGA Constellation
One of Omega's oldest collections, the Constellation family has featured some radically varied looks over the years before arriving at today's relatively classic style, with several instantly recognisable design features.
The men's Globemaster watch has kept the distinctive pie-pan dial and fluted bezel of the 1952 original, while the other Constellation watches trace their four hallmark claws back to the iconic 1982 Manhattan.
In earlier decades, Omega rolled out its first ever integrated bracelet (patented in 1969) on a Constellation watch, followed by some wafer-thin futuristic time-computers in the 1970s, when the quartz revolution was in full swing.
After the popular Manhattan arrived, Constellation designs shifted back to more rounded cases, and a mechanical movement was re-introduced. Today's models run on Omega's revolutionary co-axial movement, which isn't disturbed by magnetic fields (from phones, laptops, handbag clasps, or the like) so needs less servicing. A few of the daintier ladies' watches are still quartz.
