The Grand Seiko 'Atera Valley' Spring Drive watch features a dial inspired by the Atera Valley in Shinshu, Japan, known for its lush landscapes. It includes dual-curve sapphire crystal glass and silver-colored hour and minute hands. This model represents an evolution from the 1967 44GS, incorporating nine modern updates for enhanced aesthetics, legibility, and comfort. The Spring Drive 9RA2 movement, visible through the exhibition case back, offers high precision with an accuracy of +/- 0.5 seconds per day and a five-day power reserve. Spring Drive combines mechanical and electronic timekeeping technologies, providing a smooth and accurate timekeeping experience without the ticking of a traditional escapement.
