OMEGA Seamaster

Most recognisable as the timepiece worn by James Bond, the Seamaster is the oldest model in Omega's current collection. When it was launched in 1948 to celebrate Omega's 100th anniversary, Omega was already well-known for its robust divers' watches. But the Seamaster took this reputation to the next level. Looking to submarines used in WWII for inspiration, Omega implemented an O-ring rubber gasket to improve its water resistance in depths of up to 60 meters and temperatures between -40ºC and 50ºC. Such resilience makes it the obvious choice for 007. Since GoldenEye in 1995, James Bond has loyally worn an Omega Seamaster, with a few bespoke fictional features - such as lasers and detonators. Many divers have put the Seamaster to the test but none more so than The Five Deeps Expedition team. With the specially-engineered Seamaster Planet Ocean timepiece by their side, this expert diving team achieved a world record and dived to the deepest point of the Atlantic Ocean at 10,925m deep.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Spend what feels comfortable and meaningful to you. An engagement ring should be a reflection of your story, not a rule to follow – what matters most is choosing a ring that feels right for you and reflects the love you share. Decide what details are most meaningful, then explore styles that match your vision and your budget.
There’s a wide range when it comes to engagement ring pricing, but it all comes down to your preferences. From classic solitaires to detailed halo styles, you’ll find designs at Fraser Hart that suit your style and what you’re happy to spend.
Traditionally, engagement rings are worn on the ring finger of the left hand. However, this is not a strict rule and may vary depending on cultural or personal preferences. Some people choose to wear their engagement rings on the right hand or even switch them to the left hand after marriage. Ultimately, it's up to the individual to decide which hand they feel most comfortable wearing their engagement ring on.
Yes, and it's a growing trend. Many men choose to mark their engagement with a ring that reflects their personal style. Explore our collection of men’s engagement rings, including classic bands and designs with subtle diamond details in platinum, white gold and more.
The tradition of wearing engagement rings originated in ancient Egypt, where couples exchanged bands made of woven reeds. However, it wasn't until the Roman era that rings with gemstones became popular symbols of commitment. The tradition spread throughout Europe during the medieval period and diamond engagement rings became popular throughout the 20th century.
When wearing wedding, engagement, and eternity rings, one common tradition is to place the wedding band first, closest to the heart, then followed by the engagement ring and the eternity ring on the same finger. It's important to feel comfortable and showcase each ring's beauty while ensuring they don't clash or cause discomfort.
