The dial design of this timepiece is inspired by traditional Japanese Kira-Zuri – translated as ‘Sparkling painting,’ a pattern created with mica particles commonly found in Ukiyo-e paintings to create texture to the background of Kabuki actors, adding light – inspiring the lustre on this specific watch dial.This model is powered by the Spring Drive movement, uniquely pioneered by Seiko Watch Corporation’s watchmakers. Spring Drive generates energy like a conventional mechanical watch with a mainspring but combines this with an electronic regulator to deliver superior precision, never requiring a battery change.
