For years, Oris has experimented with bronze in its diver's watches; now, for the first time, the independent Swiss watchmaker has given its extremely competent Big Crown ProPilot Big Date a new look by encasing it in bronze as well. The bronze case, fluted bezel, and distinctive large crown provide the new model a warm tone, which is matched with a deep black dial with printed golden indexes. Because this is a true pilot's watch, the hands are filled with white Super LumiNova®, and the hour markings are solid Super LumiNova®, providing excellent contrast and readability. A tough green Ventile® strap with Oris's whimsical 'Lift' clasp, also in bronze, completes the elegant aesthetic. The device was inspired by passenger aeroplane seat belt buckles. The watch is powered by a Swiss-made mechanical movement, as is the case with every Oris.
