The Colt collection are the point of entry into the world of Breitling, offering timepieces with automatic and quartz movements. Breitling’s historic association with the military and aviation was the inspiration behind the Colt collection of timepieces, which combine high-performance practicality with streamlined styling. Initially the Colt was developed as a functional watch for army personnel in the 1980s, but its distinctive, robust design – not to mention its accessible price – soon gained it broader popularity.
The polished case illustrates congenial design at its best. It's contoured to curve protectively around the large screw-locked crown (and push-pieces, on chronograph versions) and integrate with nicely curved lugs for comfortable wear.
The Colt watch incorporates more of Breitling’s military-inspired DNA than ever. Its unmistakable rotating bezel, high-polish case, and metal bracelet with slightly angled links make this an unequivocally Breitling timepiece.
Legibility is great, with oversized luminescent hands and hour-markers, and anti-reflective coating applied on both sides of the sapphire crystal glass. A solitary lume-treated dot at 12 o’clock means the orientation of the dial is always obvious, even in the dark.
