IWC Schaffhausen at Watches & Wonders 2024

IWC Schaffhausen is well-known for its pilot's watches, ties to motorsports, and innovative use of ceramic, making it seem like a brand all about modern, sporty watches. But there's another side to IWC Schaffhausen: it also excels in classic, elegant watch designs with intricate features.

At Watches & Wonders 2024, IWC Schaffhausen turned the spotlight on its classic elegance by unveiling a range of new Portugieser models. Form Follows Function

IWC Schaffhausen is a leading Swiss luxury watch manufacturer based in Schaffhausen in the north-eastern part of Switzerland. With collections like the Portugieser and the Pilot’s Watches, the brand covers the whole spectrum from elegant to sports watches.

Founded in 1868 by the American watchmaker and engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones, IWC is known for its unique engineering approach to watchmaking, combining the best of human craftsmanship and creativity with cutting-edge technology and processes.

IWC Schaffhausen Collections

Over its more than 150-year history, IWC has earned a reputation for creating professional instrument watches and functional complications, especially chronographs and calendars, which are ingenious, robust, and easy for customers to use.

A pioneer in the use of titanium and ceramics, IWC today specialises in highly engineered watch cases manufactured from advanced materials, such as coloured ceramics, Ceratanium®, and titanium aluminide.

Iconic Portugieser Models

IWC Schaffhausen introduces new versions of the Portugieser Automatic and the Portugieser Chronograph, two of the most popular models in the brand’s Portugieser collection.

Both watches feature stainless steel cases, contrasting white and blue dials with the characteristic railway-track style chapter ring, blue Arabic numerals, and blued feuille hands.

The Portugieser Automatic is powered by the IWC-manufactured 52010 calibre with a power reserve of 7 days and fitted with a blue alligator leather strap. The Portugieser Chronograph features the IWC-manufactured 69355 calibre chronograph movement and a blue rubber strap.

Coloured Ceramic Watches

Color codes from the world of naval aviation, translated into eye-catching ceramic colors and striking monochrome watches: the “Colors of TOP GUN” collection combines the functional design and high robustness of IWC’s Pilot’s Watches with the company’s extensive know-how in advanced materials and case engineering.

The Pilot’s Watch 41 TOP GUN combines a “Jet Black” ceramic case in an ergonomic 41 millimetres size with a black dial and a black rubber or textile strap. The crown and pushers made of titanium. A titanium case back complements the sleek and sporty chronograph design.
